Extracted by steam distillation of the leaves the geranium oil is like other flower oils antidepressant and antiseptic. It helps speed up the skin´s healing process which makes it useful for injuries and wounds.

Often used together with rose in skincare it also blends well with bergamot and lavender and many other (floral) oils.

It helps with premenstrual tension, has diuretic properties and can balance out male and female hormones. Geranium has a positive effect on the female reproductive cycle. Tonic and cleansing to both the liver and kidneys, treats jaundice, kidney and bladder stones and urinary infections.

Good to use in a massage blend for oedema, cellulitis and fluid retention geranium has a positive effect on the lymphatic system.

It is also a lovely smelling insect repellant.
